BENNINGTON, Vt. -
The Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington is trying to get an additional $2 million in state funding.
Most the home's funding come from Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance programs, but the home says it needs the state's help to cover expenses.
The home is currently running in a deficit for this budget year and is seeking $2 million for the next budget year, citing rising utility costs and scheduled employee pay raises.
