
A big bread buyout is combining two Vermont based companies.
Burlington-based Koffee Kup Bakery has purchased the Vermont Bread Company in Brattleboro for $3.5 million. The Rutland Herald reports the deal was made possible through grants and loans.
The merger will combine a staff of nearly 250 workers.
Koffee Cup will now control bakery facilities in Brattleboro and Connecticut. The two companies deliver baked goods to almost all of the states in New England.
