MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Governor Peter Shumlin is pushing some controversial legislation this session, and House committees are diving in.
The House Judiciary Committee will hear testimony Thursday on a plan to prevent public employees who are convicted of financial crimes from cashing in on tax payer dollars with inflated pensions.
And the House Human Services Committee will hear testimony on Shumlin's plan to put new time limits on how long someone can stay on the state's welfare-to-work Reach Up program.
