This is a Sensory Garden at the Maine Coastal Botanical Garden, and it's a great place to have all five senses stimulated. Walking on these stones is a good way to stimulate your feet! It's a reflexology labyrinth. You take your shoes off and you walk on the stones and it just relaxes you with a gentle massage.
In the middle of this five senses garden there are all different kinds of plants and natural materials. There are edible plants. They have a whole island of plants that you can access in a wheel chair. They have an area where you can go underneath the wall to access the plants above.
They have cubed vertical gardens. In these cubed vertical gardens you can actually have a vertical wall of greenery and plants. It's a beautiful place to go and you can actually grow plants to eat. And then throughout the garden there are plants for fragrance, such as day lilies and roses, and there's the sound of water. It's very refreshing.
And they have a waterfall that's so close you can touch it as you go around the garden. There are bright colored flowers all through the garden. It's just something great to stimulate your senses and get your feet going too! It's a lot of fun.
