Counterfeit travelers checks in Chittenden County

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A warning about fake travelers checks.

Police say counterfeit American Express travelers checks have turned up in Chittenden County. They look very real, but they're not, they're phony.  Police are warning business owners to be on the lookout.

If someone tries to pay you with one of these -- call the police.
