MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Governor Shumlin is taking his case for Vermont's EB-5 development program to Florida.
Shumlin leaves Wednesday for a three-day trip to the Sunshine State.
He'll travel with the major players behind the ongoing development in the Northeast Kingdom with hopes of securing additional high-dollar foreign donors for future projects.
Shumlin said the effort is designed to help raise $600-million for development that he hopes will lead to 10-thousand new jobs in the region.
"We have a story to tell that is unlike any other EB-5 project in America, for the simple reason that we are the only statewide EB-5 program in the nation, we're the only EB-5 program where the state acts as an auditor for the program," Shumlin said.
The costs for the multiple day trip are being covered with the administrative fees companies pay to be a part of the EB-5 program.
