WOLCOTT, Vt. -
The longtime owner of an iconic Vermont furniture store is "passing the buck."
After 56 years at the helm of Buck's Furniture in Wolcott, Floyd Buck is retiring. He founded the store in 1957, first operating as a general store with antiques, used furniture, clothing and guns.
It is now the largest furniture store in Vermont, with one of the largest selections in New England. Buck's daughter and son-in-law will take over, but first the store will liquidate its entire inventory so the two will have a fresh start.
