Former northern NY candidate charged with selling crack
NEW YORK -
A former political candidate from northern New York has been busted for dealing crack cocaine.
Rudy Johnson, 64, of Malone, was the Democratic candidate for the North Country's assembly seat in 2010. He also ran for Congress in 2009.
Now, Johnson has been arrested in New York City on charges of selling crack. Malone police say they were informed of the case, as detectives in both communities want to know if this was isolated or part of a larger drug-trafficking operation.
