Fire at Lebanon home

Posted: Updated:
LEBANON, N.H. -

Fire at a hilltop mansion in the Upper Valley Tuesday.

Crews got the call just before noon at the Eastman Hill property. A three-car detached garage with adjoining apartment was on fire when they arrived. The 100-acre Lebanon home belongs to the owners of the Carpet Mill USA, which is a well known business in town.

Getting water to the scene was a challenge for firefighters.

"We have over 1,500 feet of four-inch out and a relay truck at the bottom. And then they are actually doing a tanker relay from the Whaleback ski area to get the water back to the bottom of the hill," Lebanon Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Libbey said.

The garage and apartment were completely destroyed. Investigators don't know the cause yet.

No one was injured.
