A former state employee arrested in connection with a farm prostitution ring has been sentenced.
Alejandro Young-Hernandez, 56, who also went by the name Alex Young, was implicated two years ago as part of a scheme to bring prostitutes from New York City to various Vermont farms to have sex with immigrant workers.
Young-Hernandez was a state social worker at the time. He could have gotten up to five years in prison. But instead he will spend two years on probation. The judge cited Young's help in convicting two other men in the case.
