BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Budget cuts are in the works at the University of Vermont.
UVM president Thomas Sullivan says the school needs to reduce the general operating fund by $5 million. Sullivan says it's due to cost increases and a drop in research grants. The president says he and trustees will work with university deans, vice presidents and faculty to figure out where to make those cuts.
Proposals for balancing the budget are due Feb. 15.
