RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A technical center in Vermont is going to offer high school students a course on careers in tourism.
The course, which begins at the Stafford Technical Center in Rutland in August, includes instruction in resort and recreation management; business operations and management; guest services;, marketing; event planning; and other topics.
The Rutland Herald reports the center is hoping to get more students interested in the field to sustain Vermont's tourism industry, 1 of the major economic drivers in the state.
