Section 8 housing progress in Rutland

RUTLAND, Vt. -

Progress for Section 8 housing in Rutland.

The Rutland Herald reports the Regency Manor apartments are now being classified as Section 8 housing, meaning some of the 82 families on the waiting list can apply for housing there because some of the current residents do not meet financial requirements for assistance.

Work is also ongoing at the former Forest Park housing complex as they construct new mixed-income units.

Some of the families have been waiting for section 8 openings for nearly two years.
