Bennington woman accused of child cruelty

BENNINGTON, Vt. -

A Bennington mother is facing domestic abuse and child cruelty charges.

Vermont Today reports 22-year-old Adrienne Bowen is staying in a Bennington homeless shelter, where a fellow resident reported her for allegedly picking up her 18-month-old child up by the arm, swinging the child in the air, twisting the child's arm then dropping the child on the ground, along with other abuse allegations.

Bowen plead not guilty to the misdemeanor charges on Tuesday. She has since been released under curfew regulations and is ordered not to use corporal punishment on the child.
