Huge works of art-- or should we say snow-- are on display in Woodstock.
The snow sculpture contest was almost canceled before the most recent storm. But at the last minute, the Pentangle Arts Council decided to go ahead with it. Six- by eight-foot boxes were filled with snow and sculptors came from all over the region. Some of the finished products are pretty impressive.
Pentangle is a nonprofit that fosters creativity throughout the Upper Valley community.
"They are really abstract and cool and I don't think I could ever build one like this," said Julia Martin of Belmont, Mass. "I like the face because it is like he is peeking out of the ground."
The contest was just for fun to celebrate the season. No prizes were awarded. It was made possible with the support of several area businesses.
