ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -

New revelations in a bizarre murder-for-hire plot involving a Vermonter: convicted Vermont killer Dana Martin was caught on tape in a New Mexico jail talking to his alleged hired hit man.

Ruane: "We went and we bought. You know, the (expletive) hedge clippers, the hand hedge clippers."
Martin: "You got to be kidding me."
Ruane: "Hell yeah, dude. That was all me. I was going to get down and dirty."

This is an audio recording between convicted killer Dana Martin and Tanner Ruane, the man he apparently hired to castrate and murder two Vermonters.

Ruane: "He was going to handle the whole putdown of the dog and then I was going to go snip, snip."

Investigators say Martin, already in jail for raping and murdering 15-year-old Deandra Florucci, hired Ruane and his uncle, Mark Staake, in November. In order to kill four people, including Justin Bieber, his bodyguard, and two Vermonters.

Ruane: "He's set on taking care of, going ahead and adopting these dogs.
Martin: "And castrating them?"
Ruane: "Yes, sir. I was going to do that. That was all me."

And the pair was close to killing one of the Vermonters. In the recording, Ruane tells Martin a nine-year old girl answered the door to one of their targets' homes to inform them her father wasn't home.

Ruane: "Dude, it pisses me off so bad, brother. I wanted this (expletive) to go down so bad. I was ready. We were there last night dude."

The alleged plot fell apart after Staake was arrested at the Highgate Springs border crossing for violating his parole. Ruane was later arrested driving through New York. Both men were sent back to New Mexico to face charges.
