Operators want to move mobile methadone clinic in Newport

NEWPORT, Vt. -

The operators of a mobile methadone clinic in Newport want to relocate the drug dispensary to a more secure location.

BAART Behavioral Services saw its administrative offices targeted by an armed robber looking for drugs last month. The thief might have been more successful if he had targeted the mobile clinic operated by BAART on the other side of town.

The Caledonian-Record reports that since the robbery, BAART has added new security to the administrative offices and now wants to move the methadone clinic into that location. The mayor and police chief support the idea.
