Civilian employees feel budget pinch

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, D.C. -

Civilian military employees in our region are feeling the pinch from the budget battle on Capitol Hill.

New Hampshire is facing $5.8 million in Pentagon civilian paycheck cuts if the automatic spending cuts kick in on March 1.

And Vermont is facing about $3 million in cuts.

Massachusetts faces $45 million in cuts.

And earlier this week, we told you that a military contractor at the area's largest military base in Fort Drum, N.Y., plans to cut 150 civilian jobs due to federal budget concerns.
