RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper who was shot during a traffic stop is back at home.

First Sgt. Jeff Gordon said Thursday that Michael Potts was released from a hospital and is resting at home with his family.

Potts was shot four times Monday during a traffic stop in Durham. Two people are charged in the shooting: Mikel Brady, 23, of Randolph, Vt., and Brady's girlfriend, Lyndsey Smith, 21, of Durham.

Brady is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, while Smith is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
