MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Vermont has won a big healthcare grant.
The $45 million grant is part of a federal program designed to bring efficiencies to state health care programs.
The money is expected to be used to create unified networks, as well as a bundled-payment system to allow patients to pay for their hospitalization in one amount, and also support pay-for-performance, where health care providers are paid for achieving quality standards.
