Fatal snowmobile accident

PITTSFIELD, Vt. -

A fatal snowmobile accident in Pittsfield.

It happened late Friday night on Tweed River Drive. Police say 25-year-old Bartholomew Dougherty collided head on with a tree. Friends attempted to perform CPR, however Dougherty was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The investigation revealed that Dougherty was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and it appears alcohol could have been a factor.
