ELLENBURG, N.Y. -
New York State Police say a Swanton, Vt., man was killed in a crash in Ellenburg, N.Y., Tuesday morning.
It happened on Route 11 at the intersection of the Military Turnpike at about 7:45 a.m.
Investigators say Barbara Garrison, 60, of Swanton, was headed east on Route 11 when she crossed the center line and hit a westbound car.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, Alan Winters, 73, of Swanton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Garrison was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Route 11 was closed for a time between Brandy Brook Road and Cold Springs Road while police worked at the scene.
