Vermont was the first state to abolish slavery in its constitution, and the first to enroll and graduate a black student, who went on to serve in the state Legislature.
So to honor that past, the state decided to open an African-American Heritage Trail. Kristin Carlson got a preview of one of the exhibits getting set to open soon. She spoke with director, Jane Williamson. Watch the video for more.
