SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
South Burlington could get a Trader Joe's.
The city's development review board gave preliminary approval to the specialty food store's plans for two buildings. The company wants to build a 13,000-square-foot store off Dorset Street and another 14,000-square-foot mixed-use building next door.
Trader Joe's has a few more hurdles to clear for final approval.
"The applicant can choose to submit for a final approval from the Development Review Board on detail items, as well as the applicant needs to submit an interim zoning application before the City Council," said Paul Conner, the director of South Burlington Planning and Zoning.
Under interim zoning, the City Council would still need to approve the project.
