MONTPELIER, Vt. -
A membership to the library in Montpelier may no longer be free.
Six municipalities' budgets feed the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, and this year they are asking for a 9.6 percent increase totaling $40,000.
But the Times Argus is reporting some of the feeder towns are upset with the formula library directors are using to determine their pay-in for members in their towns.
They will vote on whether or not to fund the library on Town Meeting Day, and library officials say if they do not get the funding memberships could cost up to $40 per person.
