CASTLETON, Vt. -
A new poll shows a majority of Vermonters want a crackdown on drivers who talk on the phone.
The Castleton Polling Institute surveyed 620 people and found 68 percent favor making it illegal to talk on a cellphone while driving in Vermont. Older people were more supportive of a ban than younger people. Only 39 percent of people surveyed between the ages of 18 and 24 want a ban on cellphone use while driving. That number soars to 87 percent for people 65 and over.
