WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -
A firefighter and a dispatcher are accused of forcing a 12-year-old boy from Ludlow into sex slavery and prostitution until he was 25.
Brett Bartolotta, 42, of Cavendish, and Frank Meyer, 39, of West Haven, Conn., are accused of showering the victim with gifts when they'd visit Vermont to get him to participate in sex acts, including wrapping him in cellophane and hanging him from the ceiling. Police say they busted the men during a sting where the victim wore a wire.
Bartolotta is a veteran firefighter with the West Haven, Conn., fire department who owns a home in Cavendish. Meyer is a dispatcher with the West Haven Connecticut Police and Fire departments.
Bartolotta and Meyer were arrested Wednesday. They both pleaded innocent to the charges Thursday and were held on bail.
