Club Website deal offers new revenue stream for local clubs

Leading bet broker Bet Butler has signed a landmark agreement with Club Website, the specialist website provider for grassroots football clubs and leagues, bringing the benefits of betting partnerships to all levels of the game for the first time.

Using its experience from existing successful partnerships with the Football League, Newcastle United, Sunderland AFC, Fulham and Rangers, Bet Butler will become the official betting partner of the entire Club Website network. Dual-branded betting websites will be developed for each club, providing a much-needed new revenue stream at grassroots level.

"We already partner with more Football League and Premier League clubs than any other betting company, but we think there are also opportunities at the lower levels of the game," said David Evans, spokesperson for Bet Butler. "Doing individual deals with each club would be too complex, but Club Website provides a ready-made solution that can introduce us to thousands of potential customers right across the UK."

Club Website offers a free website to over 20,000 football teams and over 350 amateur leagues in the UK, providing members with the opportunity to customise their pages with the information they want. The service is funded by a number of revenue streams, including merchandising, sponsorship, advertising and now betting, from which members will gain a revenue share, providing a much-needed financial boost to the grassroots game.

"It's almost impossible for a small grassroots club to generate online revenue independently, so we offer a ready-made solution with the income streams built in," said Richard Stenson, Director of Club Website. "Our partnership with Bet Butler works on a similar model to their Football League partnership, offering clubs a share of the revenue from every bet, which also means that members are generating money for their clubs every time they play with Bet Butler."

As part of the deal Bet Butler will be featured on all homepages managed by Club Website, with prominent advertising and a news ticker showing the latest betting odds. Desktop and mobile co-branded betting pages will be created for each club, featuring bets for football and other sports.
