WASHINGTON -
Rep. Peter Welch says while legislators won't reach a resolution Friday on the automatic spending cuts that are kicking in, he is optimistic a deal is on the horizon.
"If we use this month to try and make a deal, then I think we can get it done, we should, that's for sure," said Welch, D-Vermont.
Welch says he thinks that there's at least a 50-50 chance Congress will be able to make progress on the sequestration troubles in the next month.
