Fire crews in Belvidere were able to save a home Sunday.
The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at a home on Route 109. By the time crews arrived both the house and attached garage were involved. The garage is a total loss. The house suffered some damage -- mostly due to water.
"It's undetermined. We don't believe its suspicious. We think it might have been some sort of accident through -- the heating unit that was in the garage," said Johnson Fire Chief R.J. West.
Firefighters also struggled with fatigue from having to walk the hoses up the icy driveway. The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.
