You can't miss one of the big issues facing voters Tuesday in Montpelier.
Signs dot the street in front of City Hall calling for support to reinstate money for a firefighter position that was cut during budget negotiations. Ballot measure number 15 calls for the council to set aside funds to restore that position.
"They are asking the registered voters of the city to appropriate an additional $53,699 specifically -- which was cut by the city council into the fire department budget for the sole purpose of retaining a full time Firefighter EMT position," said Sandy Gallup, Montpelier's Financial Director.
This was one of five positions slated to be cut by the City Council.
