Posted: Updated:

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont attorney general's office will hold a public forum next week to evaluate police use of stun guns.

The forum - to be held next Monday in Montpelier - will include a panel made up of 2 lawmakers, the heads of the Vermont American Civil Liberties Union and Disability Rights Vermont and Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell. Members of the public will also be invited to provide comments.

Several presentations will be given on the current training and policies on the use of stun guns and the risk and benefits of using them.

After the forum, the panel will make recommendations to the attorney general on police use of the devices.

The forum will be held on March 11 at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of the Pavilion building.
