NY communities get broadband grant

JAY, N.Y. -

Funding for broadband internet in New York's North Country is coming through.

The Press-Republican reports the towns of Bellmont, Dannemora, Schroon, North Hudson, Jay and Willmington are set to share in some of the $25 million Connect New York broadband grant, which was announced Tuesday.

Work is set to start as early as this spring connecting thousands of homes and businesses to fiber-optic lines.
