SUTTON, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police say a tractor-trailer truck hauling 65,000 pounds of milk on Interstate 89 slid off the road and rolled onto the driver's side, spilling much of the milk.
Police and Department of Environmental Services workers are at the scene of the accident in the southbound lanes in Sutton. The accident happened at about 3:35 a.m. Thursday. One lane was open as crews cleaned up the spill.
Police said 59-year-old Frederick Steinhour of Enosburgh, Vt., was driving the truck, owned by McDermott's Inc. Steinhour wasn't hurt, but the milk tank was ruptured.
Police say temperatures during the overnight hours were hovering around freezing, possibly causing wet road surface temperatures to freeze.
