BURLINGTON, Vt. -

More than 38,000 deaths in the United States are attributed to suicide. And it's one of the leading causes of death in people 15-24.

Kelly Short lost her daughter, Leah, to suicide when Leah was just 16. Kelly Short appeared on The :30 to share her story, and to offer some advice to parents on talking to children about suicide and spotting early warning signs. Watch the video for more.
