BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Vermont health officials
say tests confirm norovirus is what made dozens of people sick at Bridport
Central School.
Wednesday, three-quarters
of students stayed home sick with a stomach bug. By the end of the day,
officials decided to close the school for the rest of the week.
The Vt. Health Department
suspected a highly contagious norovirus was to blame. Test results back Friday
confirm that.
Health officials say most
people recover from the illness in 24 to 60 hours. It's unclear whether the
school will reopen Monday.
