Police: Man attacks two people before being tased

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Burlington police say they had to tase a suspect accused of assaulting two people.

Police say 31-year old Daniel Matis beat, threw and bit a woman and a man in the face in an apartment on North Winooski Avenue around midnight Sunday.

Police say when they arrived, Matis started attacking them as well, so they tased him. Police say even after the tasing, Matis continued to act in a bizarre and violent manner.

He was taken into custody for a medical evaluation.
