Senator Charles Schumer (D- NY) is objecting to the Transportation Security Administration's new policy to allow passengers to carry small knives onto planes.
Sen. Schumer wants the TSA to reverse its newly announced protocol. The New York Democrat says the plan puts passengers and flight crews in danger. Schumer says the newly allowed items -- which include novelty-size baseball bats, billiard cues, and hockey sticks -- could be used as weapons. TSA officials have said gun-carrying pilots, air marshals and crew members trained in self-defense, provide security against the misuse of these items.
