Applications are up at The University of Vermont.
The growth is part of a plan by college President Thomas Sullivan that he says will allow the school to be more selective.
The university's applications for the next academic year are up 2.7 percent. The increase is partially attributed to a surge in early applications which officials say resulted -- in part from a decision to waive the $55 dollar early application fee.
