BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Prosecutors say a 30-year-old Vermont man is being held pending trial on charges that followed an alleged Rutland home invasion.
The U.S. Attorney's office says Calvin Alexander, of Rutland, was indicted by a grand jury on three counts of distributing heroin and cocaine base for crimes that took place in October.
Last week Alexander pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Court records say that before the federal charges were brought, Alexander was involved in a home invasion in which he and three others went into a Rutland home with pepper spray and a handgun and tried to rob the occupants of drugs and cash. Two of the occupants of the house suffered minor injuries.
