Girls semifinal games hit Barre

Posted: Updated:
BARRE, Vt. -

Barre Auditorium played host to two great girls high school state semifinal games tonight with the winners advancing to this weekend's championships.

In the first game, Arlington used clutch scoring and strong defense down the stretch to top West Rutland, 59-49 in their Division IIII semifinal contest. The Eagles will play Proctor Saturday for the state title.

The night cap featured a 2-3 matchup as BFA-Fairfax tangled with U-32. The Raiders were looking to extend their 21-game winning streak but the Bullets were too much on the evening. Meghan Bochanski led the way with 15 points as BFA-Fairfax tops U-32, 39-33. They'll meet Mt. Abraham Saturday for the Division II state title.
