
It was an exciting night of boys high school hockey championships at Gutterson Field House.
In the Division II final, U-32 found the winning formula for the second straight year, topping Burr & Burton 5-2 for the state title. Shane O'Neil and Cole Mugford each had two goals for the Raiders in the win.
The late game was an instant cliassic between top seeds as No. 1 South Burlington defeated No. 2 CVU 4-2 for their first championship at the Division I level. Tied at two with 5:53 remaining, Matt Baechle put home the game-winner to give the Rebels their first title since 1994.
