The New Hampshire Legislature has voted against a bill that would have legalized marijuana in the state.
Lawmakers in the House struck down the proposed law by a vote of 239-112 Wednesday.
Supporters say it's time to end the government's war against marijuana users, arguing tobacco and alcohol are both legal but pose a greater danger to personal health than pot.
Bill opponents say marijuana is a gateway drug and has chemical effect on the brain that can influence memory, thinking and concentration.
