This is the first year without the Snowboarding U.S. Open at Stratton. But a new event is coming down the pipe.
The first Vermont Open begins Friday and runs through the weekend. Organizers Seth Neary and Mike Hayes tell us about the inspiration for the event.
The Vermont Open, which welcomes riders from across the region, will include a rail-jam, half-pipe competition, and banked slalom course.
Last week, Burton held the 31st Annual U.S. Open. But it was in Colorado.
It's the first time in the event's history it has been held outside Vermont.
