COVENTRY, Vt. -
The state airport in Newport plans to expand.
Developers are working on a thousand foot runway extension, a new terminal and hangars, and manufacturing space.
The F.A.A. will need to approve the project, but the Caledonian Record reports the longer runway would mean corporate jets and passenger aircraft could use the airport.
All of this is part of Bill Stenger's Northeast Kingdom Development Initiative.
