WCAX's Matt Henson faces lewd and lascivious charges

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A Channel 3 News employee is facing criminal charges.

Police say that reporter Matt Henson groped a woman at a Lyndonville bar Thursday night - and fought with bar staff. Henson is charged with lewd and lascivious - and disorderly conduct. A woman told police she approached Henson at the Packing House. She said over the course of the evening he tried to touch twice under her clothes before pinning her to a wall outside the bar. She told police she got away and went to a bouncer. Police say Henson's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. He is due in court next month.

Channel 3 News Director Anson Tebbetts said in a statement: "Matt Henson has been put on leave effective immediately as we try to learn more about these allegations."
