BARRE, Vt. (AP) - Police say a Vermont woman has been charged with aggravated assault and drunken driving for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with her car after an argument in Barre.
Barre City Police say 33-year-old Jennifer Caplin got into an argument with 26-year-old Adam Huot of Willliamstown at a Barre intersection on Saturday morning around 6 a.m.
Hout told police that a passenger in the vehicle grabbed onto his shirt as Caplin drove away. Huot says he was able to break free and ran into a driveway but police say Caplin followed him and hit him in the back with the vehicle, sending him into the air. He landed on the vehicle and then the driveway.
Huot called 911.
Police say he was taken the hospital with bumps, bruises and non-life-threatening injuries.
