COLCHESTER, Vt. -
Concerns in the state over wild boars.
The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department wants the Legislature to ban possessing and importing the aggressive animals.
New York has already seen a wild boar problem, destroying crops in the Peru area.
So far the boars are only in captive hunting facilities in Vermont, but the department is worried they could escape and prey on birds, endangered plants, and animals on private property.
