BENNINGTON, Vt. -
Bennington's Wal-Mart is set to double in size, despite local opposition to the court ruling.
Two different groups appealed the expansion plans that would double the size of the store, and now the state environmental court is accepting the terms of a new settlement.
The developer will pay $200,000 to support downtown Bennington and another $25,000 to improve water quality along the Walloomsac River.
