New numbers show New York hunters saw a good bear season.
The state Department of Environmental Conservation says hunters killed 1,337 bears last year, the third highest on record.
The Adirondacks fared particularly well, the bear harvest increased to 606 after an exceptionally low harvest back in 2011.
Officials say a low natural food source may have forced bears closer to humans.
